Quest Exchange is a non-profit international student exchange organization based in San Francisco. We have over 17 years of experience in providing educational and cultural exchange programs for students, host families, and schools.
We are looking for a great Local Coordinator in the Jose, CA area to help provide local support for international students who attend highs schools in the East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD). This position does not require a great time commitment throughout the school year, but we do need to know that the coordinator has a keen interest in sharing culture and assisting the international student in their adjustment in the US! The Local Coordinator should live within driving distance of Piedmont Hills, Santa Teresa and Silver Creek High Schools.
The Role of the Quest Local Coordinator
- Recruiting and screening the host family that will be hosting the student (phone training is provided)
- Helping international students adjust to a new culture
- Submitting monthly reports about student progress
- Working with the host family and student to resolve any issues that may arise
- Forming meaningful relationships with students from around the world!
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a sincere interest in cultural exchange
- Likes working with teenagers
- Is active within the community and school
- Is tech savvy - can use email, a scanner, etc
Compensation:
Local Coordinators are paid per student placement and for monthly supervision. The pay to recruit and onboard a new host family is $550 and a school year of student supervision is $450 ($50/month for 9 months). A monthly stipend/reimbursement will be provided to the host family, and we can provide more details about our student or host family responsibilities if requested.
