Volunteers make a difference in the lives of the families that come through our doors by hosting, by listening, by nurturing and by simply being there.
Weekend Volunteers manage all basic aspects of daily operations while staff are off-duty. Weekend Managers cover full days and overnight shifts. Overnight volunteers have a private room and bathroom during overnight shifts; shifts include sleep time. Volunteers choose which weekends they can cover, and whether they are able to cover one night, two nights, or a few hours. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together!
Responsibilities include: orienting families with House services, assisting with families' checking in or out, daily household cleaning and house upkeep, and preparing guest rooms for new families.
Orientation and training are provided. A staff member is always available on call for emergencies or questions.
