Volunteers make a difference in the lives of the families that come through our doors by hosting, by listening, by nurturing and by simply being there.

Weekend Volunteers manage all basic aspects of daily operations. Volunteers may cover full days and overnight shifts, or shorter daytime shifts. Overnight volunteers have a private room and bathroom during overnight shifts; overnight shifts include sleep time, although volunteers respond to emergencies as needed throughout the day and night.

Volunteers choose which weekends or shifts they cover, and whether they are able to cover one night, two nights, or a just few hours. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together!

Responsibilities include: orienting families with House services, assisting with families checking in or out, daily household cleaning and house upkeep, front desk coverage, and preparing guest rooms for new families.

Orientation and training are provided. A staff member is always available on call for emergencies or questions.

COVID-19 protocols are in place including specific cleaning procedures, social distancing measures, and personal protection supplies such as gloves and masks are provided.
