The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk and the nation's way to pay tribute to those battling blood cancer. Participants walk a 2-3 mile route carrying illuminated lanterns: red for supporters, white for survivors and gold lanterns for those walking in memory of loved ones lost.

This event requires almost 500 dedicated volunteers to help with 5 Chicagoland walksites . Volunteers help with the following:

Setup, Registration, T-Shirt Tent, Lantern Tent, Money Tent, Kid’s Corner, Tent Concierge, Greeters, Cheer Stations, and much more!

Shifts vary from 11:30am- 9:00pm

If interested in volunteering, please contact Danielle Cerve at Volunteer_ILC@lls.org or 312-568-7736.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Illinois Region serves Illinois residents who have been touched by blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
