Assist library customers with basic to advanced Computer Skills and Job Searching Skills from creating an e-mail, resume writing, saving, attaching files, filling out job or unemployment applications and searching the Internet.
The ideal volunteer needs to be computer-literate, have bilingual language skills (English & Spanish) and be able to commit at least 2 hours on Thursdays from 1pm-3pm or on Saturdays mornings/afternoons. In addition, volunteer will have to follow City of San José's Covid-19 Health Protocols and Procedures while doing in-person volunteering. Fingerprint clearance is required as well as completion of online training.

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
