Hi
We are specifically looking for high school students in grades 9 and 10 who already know Java programming (must have taken a one year course through school or online and must have done really well in that course) to help us teaching Java workshops in the local Bay Area libraries.
The students start as helper teachers and gradually move to lead teachers in subsequent workshops. Each workshop has 5 sessions with 1.5 hours for each session. So, a total commitement of about 10 -12 hours (including driving, preparation etc.)
Students get volunteer hours from us or from the library for their hours. In addition, after they teach more than 2 workshops with us, we will add them to our team profile. This is an opportunity to improve leadership and communication skills as well.
