One weekend a month, the National Aviary hosts a special event, highlighting a part of our bird collection. Unique bird themed crafts and games are offered to our visitors from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Volunteers work mostly with young children to make the craft, play a game or read a story.
Crafts are generally prepared ahead of time. We typically plan for 200-300 crafts. No special craft skills are necessary! If you can use a glue stick and a pair of scissors, enjoy working with children you are qualified!
Occasionally, we have evening family events like Penguins & Pajamas, where craft & game help is also needed.
