Description
The To Moon Art and Cultural Education program is collaborative learning space that guides learners, ages 6 - 13, to explore the arts, media, health, nature and technology. Discovery, imagination and cultural appreciation are celebrated as pathways that inspire learners to acknowledge their unique artistic talents and value as community and global citizens.
Through a social and restoritive justice-based framework, we instruct learners on arts, media and technology practices through exciting and innovative lessons and activities. While celebrating the uniqueness of the individual, the program cultivates social awareness that inspires appreciation for our natural environment, local and global communities. Emphasis is placed upon sustaining a safe environment for participants to explore their personal narratives, artistic talents and value as community members and global citizens. Healthy eating options are provided in support of self-care and wellness. An asset-based model of youth development intends to support the self-motivated learner, creating an imaginative space where learning and discovery are fun endeavors. When we shoot for the moon, the possibilities for achievement are infinite.
