Holiday Giving Campaign Intern
SCOPE OF WORK: The annual Holiday Giving Campaign (HGC) festively provides newly arrived refugee families with gifts consisting of greatly needed items provided by donors and community partners. Serving over 100 refugees last year alone, HGC generated ~$80,000 worth of items, services, and volunteer time, making HGC the largest, most impactful outreach event of the year for the IRC in Phoenix.
The HGC Intern will work closely with the In-Kind Outreach Coordinator in the logistical operations of the 2018 Holiday Giving Campaign.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the In-Kind & Outreach Coordinator, the intern will assist with the following:
- Assist with outreach to community members for sponsorship of families & donations;
- Create sponsorship packets, matching refugee families to community sponsors;
- Work with staff to communicate with sponsored families;
- Assist in updating sponsorships, client information, & logistics of HGC database;
- Assist with organizing gifts for delivery;
- Additional administrative tasks may be assigned related to the campaign
- Build upon the previous years HGC manual
REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective communication & writing skills
- Detail-oriented & organized
- Ability to take initiative & complete projects in a timely manner
- An interest in international & refugee issues
- Ability to communicate in cross-cultural environments
- College experience is required
Time Commitment:
- 3 months minimum
- 10- 15 hours per week Mon- Friday
- This internship is unpaid
