Join a team of nearly 500 talented volunteer tutors who work one-on-one with students to provide more than 30,000 hours of instruction each year. Tutors are matched with students in 1 of our 3 core programs: Adult Basic Education (Basic Reading), English Language Learning, or GED and High School Equivalency Degree preparation. Our 1-on-1 approach makes volunteer tutors essential. We are looking for people who can make a significant time commitment to our students. We ask our tutors to commit to one 90-minute session each week for at least six months. We offer sessions Monday through Friday at various locations during regularly scheduled LSW operating hours (including evenings).
Please note - You must be 18 years of age or older and have some college experience to be a tutor at Literacy Services.
