Patient Companions at The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital spend one-on-one time with pediatric patients at bedside. Volunteers rock infants, cuddle toddlers, play games, listen to music and watch movies. They provide comfort, stimulation, entertainment and joy to patients.
Interested volunteers must complete an online application. Selections are made by comparing the interests and availability of the volunteer with the needs of the Hospital. Should a match be made, an on-site interview, reference checks, background check, certain immunizations, and training are required for all volunteers.

Mission Statement
The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, a private non-profit hospital, offers 24-hour medical care, comprehensive rehabilitative therapies, respiratory care, and special education to children with complex medical needs and disabilities. The state-of-the-art facility is home to four main areas of service: Complex Care, Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation, Pediatric Clinic and Outpatient Therapy Services.
Assisting families with their challenges and questions is a significant part of our work. Parents are considered an essential part of the treatment team. Our goal for patients at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is for patients to go home to a loving family which is ready and equipped for that homecoming.
