The Ombudsman program is looking for people interested in acting as advocates for residents in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. As an advocate you will be assisting residents to resolve their complaints concerning their care or other issues at the facility. This may include interfacing with the facility staff, residents family and outside agencies. You will also make regular facility visits, investigate allegations of abuse and neglect and advocate to improve resident quality of life with a focus on maintaining resident rights.

Requirements & Commitment

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 20 hours a month for at least a year
  • Physical exam, 36 hours of training, 10 hours of mentoring
