Mission Statement

The Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) public charitable organization created to honor the life of Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus (USMC). The 2015 mission is to endow a scholarship at Bunker Hill Community College in perpetuity, helping students succeed.

Description

The Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund was founded in 2012, ten years after Andrew’s death. Proudly on November 9, 2014, the Fund completed its original three-year fundraising goal and endowed the Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus Memorial Scholarship at Lincoln Sudbury High School in perpetuity.

We believe Massachusetts Community Colleges are key social and economic institutions that identify opportunities allowing students to earn a quality education. Eligible students should not be deprived of a community college education in Massachusetts because of an inability to pay tuition and fees.

The AGSF Fund is volunteer-based and 100% of donations go directly towards endowing scholarships. To Andy’s family and friends it is our highest honor to award students in his memory. With your support we can broaden our reach and help more students succeed.

Massachusetts Community Colleges
These colleges serve as community institutions, identifying opportunities and solutions to community problems and contributing to the region's intellectual, cultural and economic development. They collaborate with elementary and secondary education and work to ensure a smooth transition from secondary to post-secondary education. Through partnerships with baccalaureate institutions, they help to promote an efficient system of public higher education.

  • Serve more than 190,000 students, and are the largest and fastest growing segment of public higher education in Massachusetts, with more than 139,483 students in credit courses and 50,179 students in non-credit courses.
  • Make higher education more accessible to a diverse student population by educating the largest sector of college students requiring developmental education and serving the highest percentage of low-income students in higher education. 36% percent of all Pell recipients in Massachusetts are community college students.
  • Offer students a solid set of academic, career and technology skills that present opportunities for both immediate and long-term career growth and lifelong learning.
  • Over the past five years, more than 19,000 students have transferred to the University of Massachusetts or the Massachusetts State Universities.
