Coordinate an after school homework club for elementary school students (K-8) at the library. Recruit, interview and supervise adults and teens to who will tutor children in the library. Provide training and leadership for volunteers. Schedule and maintain records of volunteers and participants. This an excellent opportunity to provide an important service in making a difference in children's learning and their success in school. Having bilingual skills (English & Spanish) is required in communicating with parents and doing outreach with the neighborhood community.

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
