ORGANIZATION: Holden Arboretum

Emergent Tower

Arboretum Emergent Tower and Canopy Walk Interpreters are trained volunteers stationed at key interaction points on either the Kalberer Emergent Tower or Murch Canopy Walk to share information, assist and engage guests, and help maintain safety protocols (capacity limits etc.)

This is a fun position for anyone who enjoys interacting with people and enjoys learning more about nature.

Commitment is a weekly or bi-weekly 2-hr shift between 11am-3pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday; 9am-3pm on Tuesday & Saturday. Season begins May 1 and runs through Oct. 31.

New volunteers are required to complete an application, interview with staff and complete the new volunteer orientation program. InterpreterTraining will be in early March and includes attending a one-time group session to learn interpretative highlights and structure protocals.

Physical requirements: Volunteers must be unafraid of heights, be able to walk unassisted up to two miles, and not have issues with balance.
