Provide care for shelter cats in satellite adoption center at PetSmart West. Spot clean 6 cages, scoop litter, freshen water/food bowls, meet with potential adopters. Go in during store hours for a typical 2 hour shift. This is flexible - no set time and that's what other volunteers appreciate about this opportunity.

Care for lost, homeless and abused animals of Jefferson County, help place them in forever homes, and work to inspire kinder and more humane communities.
Description
We are an Open Admissions shelter and take in animals from contracting municipalities. As a private, non-profit organization, we receive no government funding. We are funded by the individual municipalities for stray animal pick-up, reagardless of age, health, and temperment. Adoptable animals stay with us an unlimited time until adopted; no time limit on how long they live at the shelter. Seriously injured or diseased animals are euthanized only after determining there are no options to end their suffering. It is a decision we don't make lightly.
