Each year thousands of school children visit the Fort to learn about life in the past by pressing apples to make cider in the fall, visiting the one room school house and touring the fire lookout tower among other activities. We are looking for a few more enthusiastic friendly volunteers to join our volunteer crew. You would be trained to give tours and receive supervision from seasoned volunteers and the education director. Spring field trip season runs from late April through June and picks up again for the fall season in September. Because we work with school groups the majority of our volunteer shifts are weekdays between 9:00 and 12:00, although we do have some afternoon and weekend shifts. From time to time we have volunteer opportunities for special events on Saturdays as well.
