The people we serve have gone through their share of tough times. When it matters the most, mentors often help get them through that difficult time with a eagerness to listen, with compassion, and with support. Our volunteer mentors are guided with training and the support and expertise of the Trusted Mentors Staff, giving your mentoring partnership a greater chance of success.
Mentorship allows a personal portal to a life likely different than yours, exposing you to life experience and diversity quite different than your own. You also receive an opportunity for greater understanding and empathy while you give back and build up our community from the inside. Mentoring relationships build skills in active listening, engagement, managing differences in opinion, boundaries, and the necessity of self-care.
It is rare that a service can provide such differing benefits to both sides, but Trusted Mentors does.
In addition to the gratification that you will get by serving another person in need, there are fun events which you will be able to attend, and like-minded people with which you can network. For more information about Trusted Mentors please watch this video: https://vimeo.com/111005408.
Mentors will be asked to serve for a year and be in contact with their mentee six hours a month. We divide training into two sessions; an application can be found on our website at TrustedMentors.org ยป Volunteer Application and we can be reached by email at info@trustedmentors.org or call us at (317)985-5041.

Mission Statement
Trusted Mentors connects trained volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison.
Description
Trusted Mentors connects trained, volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison. We accomplish our mission by:
- Providing quality training to equip volunteers with the resources and techniques needed to be effective mentors;
- Matching adults referred by partnering agencies with trained mentors; and
- Fostering on-going mentoring relationships by supplying useful information, guidance, and positive activities.
Mentors come from all walks of life. Whether you are a business professional or formerly homeless, your knowledge and life experiences can help one of our mentees make the positive changes they desire for a more successful future.
We partner with multiple agencies throughout Indianapolis, but we don’t duplicate services. The agencies maintain the case management - and we do what we do best, provide the mentors. Referring agencies utilize Trusted Mentors because it is an effective and professional organization.
We mentor change - and it matters.CAUSE AREAS
