Duties: Assist EFAA in serving clients in an efficient and effective manner. Greet clients and visitors and assist with directing traffic in our main lobby. Volunteers also help manage wait lists for the food bank, answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, help out with intakes and perform general office duties, as needed. Spanish speaking volunteers are needed in addition to english speaking volunteers.
Skills: Patience, compassion, organization and ability to give and follow directions are required. Must be able to maintain a calm demeanor and adapt to a busy and sometimes chaotic environment. Ability to navigate web based software is essential. Spanish speaking ability is helpful.
Training requirements for this position include ~3-6 hours 1:1 training + 6 - 9 hours shadow/reverse shadow training before volunteers can manage a front desk shift on their own.
Time Commitment: 3.5 hours per week for at least six months .
