The San Dieguito Heritage Museum is looking for Docents, Volunteers, and School Tour Instructors. A Docent goes through some basic training and is educated on the history of the San Dieguito area and the artifacts and buildings on display at the museum. A Docent is present at the museum during our open hours to give tours of the museum and the grounds to visitors. Our current hours are Thursday-Sunday, 12:00 Noon to 4:00PM. We also have opportunities at other times for Docents during special events.

A Volunteer generally participates in our special events as needed, such as our annual Deep Pit BBQ and the Beans & Greens Cook-off & Faire. There is also some training involved, but you will not be required to lead tours when you volunteer. When helping at a special event, you will be placed where you are needed, serving food, decorating, setup and teardown, etc. There are also many opportunities year-round assisting with children’s crafts, archiving of artifacts, and database maintenance. We try to fit you where you will be happiest.
