Are you a friendly person? Can you read outloud to other people? Can you play a musical instrument? Can you play cards or talk about current events? Do you have one hour a week to spend visiting another person? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions you could be a hospice volunteer! Hospice volunteers are as varied as their skillsets. The one thing that they all have in common is their desire to change the world, one person at a time, into a kinder, more loving place. Hospice patients often benefit from friendly visitors who bring the outside world to them. Can you spare an hour to help another person?
Training is provided in our Norwood office and all testing/checks (UA,TB, fingerprinting) are paid for by Grace.

Description
Hospice is the only health care system that mandates the involvement of volunteers. This reflects the history of the hospice movement in the United States, which started as an all-volunteer system.
Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of a terminal illness. At HarmonyCares, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our volunteers play a key role in our mission. The hospice philosophy reaches beyond the physical needs of a patient and ensures that a patient spend their final days in comfort and with dignity.
HarmonyCares Hospice volunteers are as diverse as our professional staff. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of any great hospice volunteer, and their involvement are a vital part of our team.
