We are currently seeking receptionists to support operations Tuesday-Sunday, mornings or afternoons from 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5:00pm.
Greet and welcome visitors to the beautiful Effie Yeaw Nature Center. Assist at the front desk, answer phones, transfer calls, answer questions, stock merchandise, handle sales and event registrations, sign up new members, sell parking passes, and assist with miscellaneous tasks to support our daily operations. Must be able to use a computer, love nature and enjoy visiting with guests!

Work with fun and interesting staff in a beautiful Nature Study Area. Sometimes the Nature Center is busy and active, other times it is quiet and slow. Volunteer receptionists may bring a book, crossword puzzles, etc. to pass the time on slow days, but always be ready to handle the buzz and excitement of guests of all ages, ringing phones, and interesting questions. Receptionists often answer calls to give directions on how to get to the Nature Center and answer other questions or direct callers to office staff.

Receptionists help support daily operations of the Nature Center so Staff are able to lead programs, plan and schedule events, and handle emergencies. Our receptionists are very important to us and are the "face" of the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. Training is provided on the job as well as an initial safety training and orientation to the site prior to first shift.

You may also be trained as a substitute or "on call" receptionist, which requires an initial series of dates for training. We usually know a week or more in advance when we will need a substitute.

COVID-19 policies: Masks are required at all times, regardless of vaccination status, while working in any Effie Yeaw Nature Center Facility.
