ORGANIZATION: Grand Rapids Public Museum

Description: Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with school groups and our guests, through dressing in time period costumes and enlightening them on their shop. Volunteers will be able to choose which shop they would like to train on and work. Some of the shops are:

  • Voigt Herps
  • Rudell
  • Print
  • Fire Fighter
  • Lathe

Commitment: 6 month commitment if you volunteer once a week or 9 month commitment if you volunteer every other week

Shift: TBD

Scheduling: Based on your availability

Uniform: Costume provided

  • Like actively sharing their knowledge with crowds of people
  • Enjoy public speaking or want to build their public speaking skills
  • Want to help make learning a FUN and rewarding experience
  • Love sharing stories of the time!

Requirements: Background check, Lathe Operators must have experience and be trained on equipment
