Mission Statement

Bobbi and the Strays' mission is to stimulate interest and concern in the prevention of animal abuse and neglect. To that end, we undertake rescue operations, spay/neuter programs, provide essential care -- both veterinarian administered and volunteer coordinated -- for orphaned, homeless, stray, abused, and special needs cats and dogs. Through rehabilitation, socialization and adoption, we endeavor to provide a humane and humanitarian community service.

Our outreach efforts in the community are second to none: hosting pet adoption days, bringing pet and owner together, establishing forums to educate the public about abuse, cruelty, feral (rescue and TNR), and responsible pet ownership. We also hold special fundraisers to increase public awareness and support.

Description

Bobbi and the Strays Inc. was established in 1998 as a 501c3 non profit animal rescue organization by founder and president, Roberta "Bobbi" Giordano. We maintain partnerships with an extensive network of community and humane groups, including but no limited to veterinarians, active volunteers, local print media, and many other businesses that provide support services. We are also active members of the Mayor's Alliance for NYCs Animals.
