LifeSmart Education is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that enhances the availability of nontraditional educational classes and resources for underserved youth and communities. Role Description

We are looking for an instructor to teach a course in the fundamentals of financial planning. The course is intended to prepare students to make informed choices related to opening a bank account, budgeting, spending, saving, borrowing and investing. Teaching experience is not necessary, but helpful.

The program will run for 5 weeks for 1.5 hours each week. The course can be taught online or in person (location is near downtown Columbus, Ohio area). Alternatively, lessons may also be recorded for students to do self-study.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Follows existing curriculum/lesson plan to teach the class
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with students
• Be proactive and find new ways to motivate regular attendance
• Must set up reminders for students prior to each class
• Discusses academic difficulties with students as they arise
• Communicates all progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to students or other instructors, staff, and/or president of LifeSmart Education
• Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors
• Adhere to data collection for students in class
• Maintains required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records
