Are you interested in joining the movement to end violence in our communities? Join us for our upcoming DV Advocacy + Volunteer Training during the month of October!
There are a number of ways you can engage with our organization as a volunteer, both as a direct service and non-direct service volunteer. That means either working directly with survivors of domestic violence, which requires our 25 hour training, or on things like events and in-kind resources. You can find out more about opportunities on our website, in addition to links to our application materials.
Per Washington Administrative Code, anyone working with survivors of domestic violence is required to receive (at minimum) an initial 20 hours of domestic violence education. We offer a 25-hour training twice a year, in March and September. The training is on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm with a full day advocacy training on the final Saturday.
This Fall we will be starting on Monday, 9/5 and ending on Saturday, 10/1. The cost of the training is a flat $100, and you can find more information about the training on our website.
** please note that the training is IN PERSON but our address is not listed as we are a semi-confidential location for the safety of our clients - you will receive the address after confirming attendance**
The process for applying to be a volunteer requires:
* LifeWire Volunteer Application
* WA State Patrol Background Check
* Scheduling and interview with our Volunteer Coordinator and a LifeWire advocacy staff member
The deadline to apply is August 26! We look forward to working with you!
