Amara Family Support Group childcare volunteers play a critical role in allowing our families time to focus on connecting with each other and supporting each other. Children’s ages can range from newborn to twelve years old, and there may be up to twelve kids in a group.
Together we:
Help set up and tear down the meeting area
Spend time interacting with the children of group attendees, taking older children to the local park, or spending time playing and reading with the younger children.
We’d love your help if you:
Are 21 years of age or over
Have experience with kids
Have begun the comprehensive training and certification process
Are comfortable taking the initiative and diving in where you are needed
And are outgoing and confident with kids ranging from newborn to 12 years old, which will make a big difference on evenings when we have a large group
Timeframe and commitment
The meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, from 6-8pm
We are looking for someone who can ideally commit to attending 6 consecutive meetings (but this is not required).
Many of the kids come each month and this allows us to provide consistency for them
