Every Saturday the Scott County Humane Society sends adoptable cats and kittens to the Petsmart in Lexington (Hamburg). We need volunteers to transport the cats from our office in Georgetown (751 Slone Drive) to the store in Lexington (1945 Pavilion Drive).
The day is split into two positions: Transport to the store and Transport back to Georgetown. The cats leave the office at 10:30am and arrive at Petsmart around 11am. They leave the store at approximately 5:30pm and arrive back in Georgetown at 6pm.
This is a quick and easy way to volunteer and provide a valuable service to the Humane Society.

About Scott County Humane Society

Mission Statement
The Scott County Humane Society is united in a mission to ensure humane care and conditions for companion animals through spay/neuter, humane awareness education, and responsible pet adoption and ownership.
Description
Since 1981, our volunteer-run organization has provided lifesaving programs to cats and dogs, and outreach services to those in our community. Scott County Humane Society does not have an intake facility for animals being surrendered by homes or for abandoned animals in the community. Instead, our organization works closely on a daily basis with the Scott County Animal Shelter, a county-run, open admission facility for all abandoned or unwanted animals. We work to save and better lives through successful cat and dog foster and adoption programs, a partnership with PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin', a pet food bank, spay and neuter programs, Kind Kids educational program, and our Adoption and Education Center in Georgetown.
Because no animal is ever turned away at the county shelter, many are sadly euthanized to make room for others being given up or abandoned by their homes. Our goals are to save more lives through spay and neuter, adoption placement and through providing educational resources to help homes keep their pets forever so no pet ever finds itself homeless or with their life in jeopardy.
Each year more than 150 Scott County Humane Society volunteers dedicate their time, talents and compassion to assist and save nearly 1,300 cats and dogs lives.
Through our message to "Luv 'em Fix 'em Keep 'em" we strive for every cat and dog to have the most important things they require: to be loved, to be spayed/neutered, and through education find and remain in a caring and loving home forever.
