House Warmer Volunteers help create a welcoming home away from home by assisting with day to day tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the community spaces
  • Restocking supplies and assisting with receiving in-kind donations
  • Aid in room turnover process by cleaning and preparing overnight rooms for new families
  • Assisting with other basic housekeeping functions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills - with staff, families, other volunteers, and donors

*All other necessary training will be provided!

Time Commitment

Mission Statement

We, in partnership with our community, provide a comfortable and caring home-away-from-home that supports keeping families together and reduces stress during a child’s serious illness.

Description

We provide a warm and welcoming community of support and respite for families with seriously-ill or injured children. Across our five locations, we welcome 76 families each night for overnight services, as well as hundreds of day-visitors. Services include:

  • Lodging
  • Meals
  • Kitchen access and fully-stocked pantries
  • Laundry facilities
  • An accredited K-12 school
  • Workout facilities
  • Supportive, family-focused programming

We take care of all these things so families can focus on the well-being of their child.
