About

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Provides assistance to individuals and families in developing recovery plans, accessing the full range of government and community resources,advocacy and problem solving. Caseworkers can also provide additional direct client assistance to eligible clients, when appropriate to meet immediate and/or serious disaster caused needs. All caseworkers are responsible for keeping clients at the center of decision-making while ensuring services are delivered with compassion, professionalism and adherence to financial controls.

OPEN TIME DAYS
4-6 hours per week.

REQUIRED TRAINING
In addition to initial Disaster Responder training requirements:
• Concepts of Operations: An Overview
• Recovery Services: An Overview
• Casework and Recovery Planning Fundamentals
• Disaster Action Team (DAT) Fundamentals
• CAS 2.0: An Introduction
• CAS 2.0: Creating and Editing Cases
• CAS 2.0: Issuing Assistance
• Safe and Well Linking Fundamentals
• Psychological First Aid
• Casework and Recovery Planning Management (Recommended)
