Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Maryland will be hosting "Camp Kangaroo", a special bereavement day camp for children ages 5 to 13 who have lost a loved one. Volunteers are needed on camp days to help with set up, registration, activities, clean up and to be buddies to our campers. Please contact Karleen Lombard, Manager of Volunteer Services, at for an application packet.

Camp Kangaroo provides a day camp experience and a supportive atmosphere for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, grandparent or significant friend. The primary goal during the weekend will be to provide children with the opportunity to meet other children who have lost a loved one and to share and normalize the feelings surrounding their experiences. Activities throughout the weekend will focus on memoralizing their loved one, self-care techniques, building relationships and having fun inspite of a difficult time. Camp Kangaroo is a free camp made possible by the Seasons Hospice Foundation. If you know a child who would benefit from Camp Kangaroo, please have the parent/guardian contact Seasons Hospice at 888-523-6000.
