Story Tent

Help kids fall in love with reading! Join us for story time at the StoryTent at the City Heights Farmers Market. Kids read out loud to volunteers and earn book bucks for each book read. The bucks can be used to buy prizes!

You can sign up for one week at a time!

The StoryTent takes place every Saturday morning from 8:45am to 12:15pm at the City Heights Farmers Market!

Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. To volunteer, you must complete a simple application with reference checks before being cleared to volunteer.

Description

We are looking for volunteers to read with kids at our StoryTents, located throughout San Diego County. Kids earn Book Bucks for reading with volunteers, which they can redeem for prizes! We need volunteers for Imperial Beach, National City, El Cajon, Santee, and City Heights. Each shift lasts 2-3 hours and each program runs weekly. We ask volunteers to commit a minimum of 2 hours per month. Small stipend available for StoryTent Captains, who run the StoryTents each week.
