Do you have an interest in science? Do you enjoy sharing knowledge with others?
If yes, then consider becoming a Discovery Squad volunteer. This is a new program designed to enhance visitors’ experiences through object-based learning using artifacts or specimens from The Museum's collection. Volunteers will engage visitors in a fun and entertaining way while teaching them what scientists can learn from these objects and their importance to The Field Museum’s vast collections.
Discovery Squad volunteers should be outgoing and energetic. They must possess the skills and desire to interact and communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds. Theater and/or teaching experience is preferred. Bilingual volunteers are a plus.
The Discovery Squad program occurs on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers must be able to sign up for at least 4 shifts (10am-1pm or 12pm-3pm) per month, or 2 full days from 10am-3pm (includes a 45min lunch break).
Field Museum volunteers receive wonderful benefits including a Field Museum membership during their placement, free parking, free admission to The Field Museum for volunteers and their family, and access to weekly scientific seminars and lectures.
