Volunteer with Atlas Corps!

If you're interested in this opprotunity please fill out our interest form so that we can learn more about you and match you to an incoming Atlas Corps Fellow: http://bit.ly/AtlasCorpsVolunteer.

Atlas Corps ( http://atlascorps.org) is an international exchange program for the world's best nonprofit leaders. The Atlas Corps Fellowship is a 6-18 month, direct-service fellowship. In addition to serving at an organization related to their experience, Fellows will learn leadership skills and best practices while networking with skilled nonprofit professionals from around the world.

Atlas Corps is recruiting volunteers to be "Local Ambassadors" to our international Fellows arriving every few months. A Local Ambassador is a dedicated friend to one specific Fellow before their arrival and during their stay in the U.S (and hopefully after)! Each Local Ambassador will be paired with an incoming Fellow and will remain with them throughout the year. We ask that Ambassadors check in with their Fellow about once a month via email, phone, meeting for coffee or lunch, etc. Ambassadors can also invite Fellows to events, inform them about life in America, and show them fun things to do in their city. This is a great opportunity to get to know an amazing nonprofit leader from another part of the world and help them to feel at home in a new city.

Mission Statement

Mission: To address critical social issues, Atlas Corps develops leaders, strengthens organizations and promotes innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled professionals.

Description

Atlas Service Corps, Inc. (Atlas Corps), started in 2006, is an international network of nonprofit leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world's 21st century challenges. Our mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals. Profiled as a "best practice" in international exchange by the Brookings Institution and featured in the Washington Post as a model social entrepreneurship program, Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to the nonprofit sector in 12 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers.

Method: Atlas Corps facilitates overseas fellowships for the best of the world's rising leaders. They volunteer at outstanding organizations addressing social issues and are enrolled in an ongoing training program. After 12 or 18 months, they return to their countries to work for at least one year (and usually their entire career) back in the nonprofit sector, sharing new skills, best practices, valuable experiences and a global network of changemakers.
