Can you be a friend to a young person? Our program works with children in 3rd to 8th grade on the campus of Memorial Middle School, with the goal of helping each one discover their dream, then encouraging and equipping them to pursue their dream through academic, character, and skill development. Mentors are each paired with one student who they develop a supportive relationship with and do everything from crafts, play games, talk about values and school, to just hanging out. They commit to visit their mentee at our center for 1 hour, 1 time a week, for one year. Let's get started! Must be 18 years and older of age. All applicant completes a background check.

About US Dream Academy
Location:
2220 W. 29th St, Orlando, FL 32805, US
Mission Statement
Empower children who are at risk of incarceration to maximize their potential by providing them with academic, social and values enrichment though supportive mentoring and the use of technology.
Description
The program starts with this principle: Beyond school, every young person we serve must spend 11 to 15 hours each week in a stimulating learning environment . One-on-one sessions with carefully matched mentors complement afterschool activities that combine academic fundamentals. The focus builds on three pillars - skill-building, character-building, and dream-building. The overall goal is to nurture the whole child while altering attitudes, enhancing self-esteem, supporting emotional and intellectual growth, and sparking dreams.
