Handle reception desk and administration duties while the staff receptionist is at lunch.


  1. Greet visitors and guide them where to go

  2. Answer phones and direct the call to the appropriate person/s

  3. Sell any of the jewelry at the front desk

  4. Help with sorting, filing, and other administrative tasks

  5. Log service hours in the Volunteer Binder.


A minimum volunteer commitment of three months is requested. Volunteer shifts are for approximately 2 hours (from 11:45am and 1:45pm) seven days a week. One volunteer will be scheduled per day. When a volunteer is unable to come to the manor for a scheduled shift, he/she is expected to notify the Volunteer Coordinator and/or the Receptionist.


The Volunteer Coordinator and Receptionist will supervise volunteer work.


  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to be flexible, resourceful and organized

  • Experience in an office setting preferred; familiar with a multi-line phone system a plus

  • Ability to move around as needed

  • Respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions and values

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with fellow staff and volunteers.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteer applicants need to complete a disclosure form for a national criminal background check as well as submit immunization documentation for Chickenpox (Varicella), Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Tdap, (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) TB, a yearly physical and the flu shot. Some of these requirements can be provided through St. Elizabeth’s Manor.
