It shall be the mission of the Setauket Fire Department to provide fire, rescue and emergency services to the residents of the Setauket Fire District, in order to ensure the protection of life and property. In addition to assisting residents outside of the Setauket Fire District when assistance is requested by other departments. It is our intention to mitigate or minimize hazardous conditions at fires or emergencies when asked by our community.
Setauket Fire District Covers the following:
28 Square Miles
30 Miles of beach front
Over 10,000 private residences
4 Adult Assisted Living and Nursing Homes
Over 700 commercial businesses
7 Schools
Stony Brook University and University Hospital (45,000 person daytime population)
Daytime population exceeds 90,000 people
Nichols Road traffic exceeds 35,000 vehicles every 24 hours

Description
We provide fire, rescue and emergency services. The Setauket Fire District is an area of approximately 28 square miles and encompasses the hamlets of Setauket, East Setauket and parts of Stony Brook, Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, Lake Grove and Centereach. The District also provides Fire Rescue and Emergency Services to the Village of Old Field, Stony Brook University Hospital and 90% of the SUNY at Stony Brook Main Campus.
