The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is looking for a motivated intern! The non-competitive, family-friendly 5k is hosted annually and attracts over 2,500 participants. This year, the event will be held October 20, 2018 in Gas Works Park.

Position Overview
The Special Events intern will work with the Community Development Manager to support the 2018 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk by securing community supporters, assisting with event logistics, and coordinating volunteers.

Skill Set Requirements
● Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
● Excellent written & verbal communication skills
● Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents including donors, volunteers, business leaders and staff
● Strong administrative and computer skills
● Prior experience or interest in fundraising & special events
● Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Start and end dates of internship
Flexible, ideally begin in June or July

Expected hours/week
Flexible. Opportunity to work some hours remotely and in the community.
