Lighthouse, Inc. is a Christian organization committed to "equipping and empowering the kids of Central with the resources and opportunities to reach their potential". Our East Tech Mentoring Program provides support in life and education development to students.
Mentors are paired with 2 male students (ages 15-18) and each mentor/mentee group spends a lunch hour together every Tuesday during the school year from 12 noon-1:30 pm. Pairs spend time:
- Participating in topical group/pair discussion
- Acquiring assets to help prepare the mentee for college, career, and life
The bonds made through the Mentoring Program go beyond high school and the resources shared help propel the students forward in life, education and career. National research studies confirm that young people who have mentors are more likely to finish high school, go on to college and careers, and to be active in their communities.
This is an opportunity to help shape the development of a young person and foster indigenous leaders in the Central community. If you are interested please contact Director of Operations, Ashley Kennedy at 440 221 7697 or email at service@urbanlighthouse.org.
