Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
The Culver City Senior Center is an active adult recreation center offering hundreds of classes, workshops and seminars to members age 50+. We are looking for some patient, outgoing, organized, problem-solving volunteers to help at the two desks in our building. Customer service experience is very valuable in this position, as is experience handling multiple phone calls & customers simultaneously.
We are currently (as of 10.2.18) in need of a Monday morning (9-1), Tuesday morning (9-1), Tuesday afternoon (1-4) volunteer as well as backup volunteers - those that will be called when we need additional coverage for one of the shifts between Monday & Friday. We have two daily shifts and volunteers work the entire 4-hour shift: Morning Shift is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or Afternoon Shift is 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
