Patient Care Volunteers needed within a 20-50 mile radius of our Chino Hills office, possible areas of coverage include the surrounding areas of; Anaheim, Irvine, Riverside county, San Bernardino county, Ontario, Pomona, Montclair and San Dimas.

Do you have a desire to help others and have a compassionate heart towards those in need of companionship during the last days of their life journey? Be a hospice volunteer!

Brio Hospice provides comfort care to patients where they are living, whether it is a residential home or a facility. We are looking for volunteers to join our Inter-Disciplinary Team of nurses, doctors, social workers, and spiritual counselors who assist our patients.

Duties may include; reading to or writing for the patient, sitting at a bedside, providing emotional support, companionship, art and helping with legacy projects, listening to music or going through old photos, and providing a short break for the caregiver.

Clients receiving hospice care have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and have approximately 6 months or less to live. We are looking for individuals who will be the friendly representation of Brio to provide companionship.

This a non-medical opportunity. Volunteer schedules are flexible and we train you for free! This opportunity may be of interest to individuals who are training in the psycho-social area of; social work, bereavement, spiritual counseling, or someone training in nursing, going into or leaving the military or you just have a heart to donate your time and talent to the hospice cause.

Hospice is also a healthcare program wherein patients in the advanced stages of terminal disease receive as much care as possible in the comfort of home, and this care focuses on symptom management, support of the family, comfort, quality of life, and dignity.

Description

Brio Home Health & Hospice truly embraces the hospice philosophy and places great, great importance on the time our clients spend in hospice care. Each patient's quality of life during this very important time takes precedence over other concerns. Our hospice doctor is very involved with each admission. Each home is robustly staffed with nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains (as indicated), and volunteers to ensure each patient's needs are addressed as fully as possible.

Our service area is a 50-mile radius from our office in Chino Hills, California. This includes: Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles County.
