My name is Travis Hall, I am the Volunteer Service Manager at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC). Let me say that your willingness to serve sets you apart as a person that shows they care by what they do. Thank you for your interest.
Volunteers are an important part of our EIRMC team. Our patients, nurses and doctors depend on consistent and dependable volunteers. Each volunteer is expected to uphold a high professional standard focused on our patients and visitors. They are our top priority. If you can’t be separated from your phone for 4 hours at a time, this is not for you. I am looking for people that can make a serious commit of 100 hours a year or 4 hours each week for at least a year. Can you take on that kind of obligation? If you can . . . let’s move forward. Several people apply every month and the onboarding process can take up to 4 weeks. There is a background check and immunizations that must be done. Please be patient through this process.
We have volunteers serving in nearly all departments at EIRMC; Driving the Shuttle, Front Desk, Waiting Rooms, NICU, ER, on the floors and now we have a Ronald McDonald Room where volunteers can serve. To apply please go to www.eirmc.com/volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer.
To serve in the ER and NICU you must be at least 18 years old.
NICU volunteers must complete at least 3 hours of additional cuddle training above and beyond initial orientation before beginning NICU service. This training is only available every 4 months. Please know that we are on these infant's schedules so it will be likely that out of four shifts you will hold a baby one of those shifts. The other shifts you will be assisting the department in other ways.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
We'll work with your schedule.
