The primary focus of the Volunteer in Parks Program is to assist park interpretive staff with the following: interpreting the cultural and natural history of the park and citrus industry, conducting public interpretive tours and leading hands-on learning for school aged children, hosting our citrus tasting table, providing high quality visitor/museum services, and assisting park staff in maintenance of the park’s varietal citrus groves.

Shifts are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 9am and 4:30pm, as well as opportunities to help during special events. No prior background knowledge is necessary--we will give you all the training you need to succeed!

Mission Statement

California Citrus State Historic Park preserves some of the rapidly vanishing cultural landscape of the citrus industry and tells the far-reaching story of this industry, its role in the history of California, as well as the diverse groups of people who made it all possible. On nearly 300 acres with 85 varieties of citrus fruit, Citrus State Historic Park tells the complex history of the period of time in the early 20th century when "Citrus was King" in California, recognizing the importance of the citrus industry and its communities in southern California.
