ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Cascades Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The Cascades Region Disaster Action Teams ensure that trained Red Cross responders respond quickly to a local disaster event. Disaster Action Teams provide immediate, identifiable, emergency services to those affected by disaster.

REQUIRED TRAINING

Required:

• Orientation to the American Red Cross
• Disaster Services: An Overview (Modules one and two)
• Disaster Action Team Fundamentals- if this course is not available yet, take regional/chapter DAT training
• Client Casework & Recovery Planning Fundamentals
• Client Assistance System (CAS 2.0) training
• Recovery Services: An Overview
• Psychological First Aid
• Disaster Assessment Fundamentals- if this course is not available yet, take Disaster Assessment Basics
• Sheltering Fundamentals- if this course is not available yet, take Shelter Operations and Shelter Simulation
• Feeding Fundamentals- if this course is not available yet, take Basic Food Safety
