Alexandra House has relied on the work of volunteers to provide essential services to victims of domestic and sexual violence since 1977.
Shelter Advocates provide assistance with 24-hour help line and working with shelter residents to meet their needs.
Volunteers must be 18+ years old, females only, complete mandatory 50-hour training that prepares individuals for the challenges of direct-service volunteering, and ideally live within 30 minutes of Mercy and Unity Hospitals.

A mandatory information meeting will be held on March 10
The training is four (4) weeks in length with meetings usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and includes two full Saturdays.
