If you are in the Beauty field you might like a different kind of challenge. Use your knowledge to inform Female homebound seniors via your computer. The Virtual Senior Center offers homebound seniors the opportunity to attend online classes of every type. The Volunteer Faciliator can lead classes and see, hear and speak to everyone in the class. These one hour classes are small and interactive. All you need is a computer with high speed internet and a webcam to provide our lovely (and hopefully soon to be lovelier women!) with insight in how to look better. Scheduling of classes can is flexible during the day, evening or weekend.
Qualifications: interest in seniors, knowledge of beauty industry, basic computer knowledge (email/internet).

Selfhelp is A private, non-sectarian, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, Selfhelp was founded in 1936 by a small group of refugees fleeing persecution during the Holocaust. Our history is rich and varied because throughout it, we have continued to respond to anyone in need. Our mission has always been to help older adults live happy, independent lives in their own homes with services that help maintain their health and safety. Today, Selfhelp offers 20,000 aging, frail and "at-risk" New Yorkers a comprehensive network of social service, senior housing and home care services. It is also the oldest and largest provider of Nazi victim services in North America. For almost seven decades, Selfhelp has dedicated itself to being a source of information, service, community, and quality home care for New Yorkers.
