MD CASH Campaign

Maryland CASH (Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope) Campaign promotes programs, products, and policies that increase the financial security of low to moderate-income individuals and families across the state.

Available Volunteer Roles:

Financial Educators- Teach free finance classes on topics such as budgeting, credit, savings, taxes, and debt management. Educators teach free, fact-based, objective classes. We are also offering classes to youth with disabilities and their families across the state throughPROMISE. Spanish speakers a plus.

Financial Coaches - Using the MyBudgetCoach(tm) online tool, where you would either meet in person or online once a month for a total of 12 months, you will help families and individuals with low to moderate income improve their ability to budget, make well-informed financial decisions, and reach their financial goals. Also, with the new Maryland TECH Connection , we are providing financial coaching to long-term unemployed people. We are also offering coaching to youth with disabilities and their families across the state through PROMISE .

Volunteer opportunities are offered at a variety of locations, statewide. No experience is needed and training is provided for all volunteer roles. To learn more and to apply please visit MDCASHAcademy.org

Mission Statement

The CASH Campaign promotes programs, products, and policies that increase the financial security of low to moderate-income individuals and families across the state.

Description

To accomplish its mission, CASH Campaign:

1. Leads a network of direct service providers that offer free tax preparation, financial education and coaching, benefits screening, and access to appropriate financial services;

2. Builds program capacity of local asset-building coalitions, partners, and practitioners;

3. Coordinates and expands access to free, fact-based financial education;

4. Leads research on program practices and innovative state policies;

5. Gathers and disseminates information on effective program practices and policies; and

6. Advocates for policies that promote financial security.
