Citizenship class for refugees --- class assistant

ORGANIZATION: Jericho Road Community Health Center

ESL Initiative Citizenship Class

Help adult refugee students to learn English, and the material to pass the US Citizenship Test. A teacher will present the material and instruct class assistants how to help individual students, no experience necessary.

Classes meet Tuesdays-Fridays from 9-11:30 AM and 12:30-3 PM.

Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one 2.5 hour class per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work with individuals in a helpful, supportive, and patient manner
  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and languages
  • Friendly, dependable, and flexible
