Volunteers provide rides to the amblitory seniors in the Buda area to medical and other appointments in Buda, Kyle, Austin and San Marcos. In return, volunteers recieve the benefit of interaction and service to a valuable segment of our community. Volunteers use their own automobiles and gasoline. We use an online scheduleing service so there is not a mandatory time commintment, volunteers may log on to see available rides and accept the one(s) that work for their schedules. Time and mileage is logged on the same site. When our volunteer numbers increase the service with be expanded to the Kyle area.

Mission Statement
The purpose of Hays Drive A Senior, hereafter HDSC, is to support our senior citizen neighbors who live independentlyin their own homes, with loved ones, or in senior communities who do not have personal, dependable transportation. We connect community volunteers with seniors who require transportation assistance. It is through this effort that we as a community assist our seniors to maintain their dignity and quality of life.
Description
Free transportaion for Buda area seniors 60+ provided by volunteers. Rides given to those no longer able to drive themselves to medical and other appointments. Seniors must be amblitory, and live in a home or appartment setting, not in assisted living or nursing homes. Volunteers use an online scheduling system to see what rides they can provide based on their personal schedules.
