Volunteers are needed to provide Hispanic immigrant youth with educational support! Help students ages 5-12 with school-work, STEM and English language-learning, and arts and crafts through Sewa Houston's award-winning ASPIRE program.
Ideal candidates will have experience with tutoring and/or working with people whose first language is not English. Strong knowledge of Science, Math or Spanish a plus. Should be flexible, a team player, patient, and like working with youth of all ages.
Volunteers must be 16 years or older and available to volunteer at least one day per week. The center is open Tuesday through Friday from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10am-12pm.
All Volunteers over the age of 18 yrs will have to agree for a screening and background check to ensure the safety of the children they will be working with.
