The Animals & Society Institute is seeking a management intern to assist with the day to day operations for our non-profit organization. The intern will report directly to the Office manager, and will also work with the ASI staff and contractors.

Openings: 1 per semester

Start: Currently recruiting for Spring 2017 (January-April)

Length: Minimum of one semester

Location: ASI main office in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Hours: Flexible; minimum of 10 per week

Wage: Unpaid

Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with Office Manager on projects that may include:

  • Program development, SalesForce database management, project management and community outreach

  • Processing donations and handling thank you letters

  • Working with Constant Contact email letter list

  • Day to day operations

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with Google Suites (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • What you will get out of the Internship

  • Valuable experience in non-profit management

  • Experience with writing e-newsletters using Constant Contact

  • Experience with processing donations and using SalesForce

  • The skills to seek and hold down an administrative or management job in the non-profit sector
